Japan finished as runners-up in their group for the 2017 FIVB World League. While they have the edge in recent performance, Australians players are bigger, an issue Japan still hasn't been able to overcome. While they have recruited taller players such as Issei Otake and Taishi Onodera, time will tell if the new team can synergise properly to battle Australia, whose 2017 team has remained intact. Moving forward towards a new chapter of competitive Volleyball.  (Jason Cho) Just like how FIFA and the football community hosts the World Cup, the administrating body for volleyball, FIVB, has hosted tournaments at a global scale including the Volleyball World League and the World Grand Prix. Celebrating the 70th anniversary of the FIVB's operations, starting from 2018 a new tournament has been hyped up... .                   http:/www.fivb.com It'll be interesting to see what direction FIVB wants to take the league into. Volleyball has historically been a very strong spectator sport with fans from many countries. The league consists of both men's and women's competitions and comprises of 12 core countries and 4 contenders. A total of 130 games will be organised for play with each team playing 15 matches.
