Image result for rafael nadal wins monte carlo 2018Rafael Nadal claimed his 11th win in Monte Carlo with his bewildering game play. He solidified his status as ranked no.1 in the world by going 6-3 6-2 against Kei Nishikori, the rank 22 pro, in 93 minutes. This also means that Nadal is the firm favourite to win at the 2018 French Open for the 11th time, which is especially the case given that rival and world no.2 Roger Federer would not be participating in the clay court seasion. 

Nadal's performance for the Barcelona Open has also been impressive, given it was immediately after the Monte Carlo Masters. He eased his way into the Barcelona quarter-finals and extended his record to 40 consecutive sets won on clay by beating fellow Spaniard Guillermo Garcia Lopez 6-1 6-3, and is facing Martin Klizan from Slovakia.

On Wednesday, Djkovic fell to rank no.140 Martin Klizan 6-2 1-6 6-3 in the second round of the Barcelona Open. Albeit trying to regain his back following a right elbow injury, Djokovic has not managed to make it past the last 16 in five tournaments so far this year. Although he is rank no.12 right now, at this rate he will only continue to drop.

MMA blog: Barboza vs. Lee

from dummysports.com Couple of big fights in the UFC this weekend! Edson Barboza and Kevin Lee face off in the main event, Frankie Edgar is fighting Cub Swanson, in a rematch for the co-main event. Both of these fights have possible title shot contender-ship for the winners (lightweight title, and featherweight title, respectively). I see Kevin Lee being able to wrestle Barboza to the mat and grind out the victory, possible finishing the fight with a rear naked choke. Frankie and Cub have fought before, with Frankie dominating the fight start to finish, and I see this fight going the same way. That said, Frankie was brutally knocked out only a few weeks ago, so it will be interesting to see if that will have any effect on the fight this time around. It's going to be an exciting night of fights and I'm anxious to see who wins.
